Caring Adults
The Caring Adults Team’s mission is to recognize the Caring Adults in the community, to raise awareness of the importance of Caring Adults and to increase their numbers so that more children and youth will have the opportunity to thrive and succeed.
The Caring Adults Team hosted the 4th Annual Mentor Recruitment Rally & 100 Best Celebration on January 26, 2012. Learn more about this annual event here!
In addition to the Annual Mentor Recruitment Rally, the Caring Adults team promotes neighborhood block parties within the community to unite neighbors and encourage relationships with local caring adults. Kids have the opportunity to enjoy basketball, sidewalk chalk, tricycling, and archery while parents mingle over delicious potlucks and barbecues, all provided by Brockton’s Promise Partner, the Family Center at Community Connections.
As one Block Party host said, “Having this block party was a great way to connect with those who live around us… people we have never seen before! Now, when I take a walk up the street, I can stop and have a conversation with a new friend.”

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. "Leo Buscaglia
