Mentoring Programs aren’t “one size fits all.” Whether you’re available one hour on the weekends, or one hour on a Tuesday evening, there are all kinds of programs that can fit around your schedule. Check out below to see if any of these featured programs might be right for you!
*Boys & Girls Club of Brockton – Site Based & One-on-One
BGC Brockton recently developed a mentoring program where adults are paired with youth aged 10-19 yrs old. We are looking for enthusiastic caring adults who are eager to make a difference in the life of youth. Matches are carefully screened and supported through the process.

*Brockton Church & Community After School Program (BCCASP) – Site Based BCCASP is committed to providing a safe space for children during after school and out-of-school time, with homework assistance provided by caring adults. Volunteers provide one-on-one help, focusing especially on literacy.

*School on Wheels of Massachusetts (SOWMA) – Site Based

SOWMA provides academic support and mentoring opportunities for youth impacted by homelessness. A commitment of one hour per week tutoring and mentoring a child shows them they are important and so is their education. We provide a 2 ½hour orientation training for all new volunteer tutors and we offer on-going support for our volunteers.

*Young Parents Mentoring Program at Training Resources of America, Inc. – Site Based & One-on-One 
This program provides mentoring opportunities for pregnant or parenting youth, ages 14-21. The youth are part of TRA’s Young Parents Program where they receive GED preparation and job skills training as well as other support services. Each youth faces many challenges and could benefit greatly from a positive adult mentor who they would meet for 4 hours each month. Training and ongoing support will be provided to mentors. *Big Sister Big Brother at the Old Colony YMCA – Site Based & One-on-One
The traditional one-to-one program with BSBB establishes a consistent relationship between a mentor and youth where matches commit 3-4 hours per week to enjoy activities in an asset-rich environment. The site-based program brings college volunteers to afterschool programs in the Brockton community for one hour each week.

*Brockton Christian Mentoring Initiative – One-on-One

BCMI is a collection of churches who have joined together to change the future for the youth of Brockton and help them overcome obstacles in their lives by allowing them opportunities to fulfill their potential.

*PALS Program at Catholic Charities – Peers as Lasting Support – One-on-One

PALS is a mentoring initiative through Catholic Charities South for 14-24 year olds who are either in the criminal justice system or at risk to be. The focus is to help young people recognize their inner potential and to begin exploration of a career path within the context of a caring adult relationship.

*Coaching for Change, Inc. – Site Based
Coaching for Change, Inc. uses the world of sport to eliminate barriers to education and employment opportunities. The program is year round and volunteers can help in providing workshops and activities exposing game changers to skills ranging from financial literacy, nutrition, fitness, resume building and career opportunities.
