SOWMA provides academic support and mentoring opportunities for youth impacted by homelessness. A commitment of one hour per week tutoring and mentoring a child shows them they are important and so is their education. We provide a 2 ½hour orientation training for all new volunteer tutors and we offer on-going support for our volunteers.

The Boys & Girls Club of Brockton recently developed a mentoring program where adults are paired with youth aged 10-19 yrs old. We are looking for enthusiastic caring adults who are eager to make a difference in the life of youth. Matches are carefully screened and supported through the process.

The traditional one-to-one program with BSBB establishes a consistent relationship between a mentor and youth where matches commit 3-4 hours per week to enjoy activities in an asset-rich environment.
