Champions of Literacy Initiative!

The City of Brockton has an exciting opportunity to engage in with the support of the Sheehan Family Foundation.  The trustees of the Foundation are vested in fostering community wide efforts to enhance early literacy skills for children birth through grade three.  If granted this opportunity, Brockton would be working with the Foundation for the next three years on this endeavor.  Whether you live in Brockton, work in Brockton, or both, your valued presence as a community member is requested in supporting the planning of this initiative and in designing a model that will allow for all stakeholders to have a role in this project.  Listed below is a series of meeting dates / locations whereby we intend to compile information and ideas for the completion of an Implementation Proposal for the trustees for review.  Please RSVP to Laurie Silva at laurieasilva@bpsma.org if you can attend the next scheduled meeting, which is Wednesday, May 4th. You may also contact Laurie by phone at 508-894-4564.

  • Wed. May 4th from 10-12 in the Main Branch of the Public Library
  • Tuesday, May 24th from 2-4 at the Keith room 205
  • Thursday, June 9th from 10-12 in the Main Branch of the Public Library
  • Friday, June 24th from 10-12 at the Keith room 205
