Be a Promise Place!
While many people know that Brockton’s Promise works to provide five promises to youth, (Caring Adults, Safe Places, A Healthy Start, Effective Education and Opportunities to Help Others), many ask where we are housed, or who is responsible for our program. In actuality, we are not a single agency, but a coalition of many agencies–we assure you that it is not one organization doing this alone! In fact, Brockton’s Promise is made up of over 70(+) partner organizations who are all doing their part to ensure the success of young people. The City of Brockton has been named as one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People by America’s Promise Alliance because of the hundreds of organizations and people in this City who are working for youth and community development. Our Promise Partners are what makes our coalition able to provide all of the resources that it does for the youth of Brockton. We are excited to announce that now all of our partners have the opportunity to be individually recognized for their hard work through America’s Promise! If your organization is doing everything it can to deliver the Five Promises to our community’s young people, then you could be designated as a “Promise Place!”
A Promise Place can be a school, church, community organization, business or any other place that provides all Five Promises to young people! Once designated, Promise Places receive recognition materials, are featured on the Alliance’s website and serve as models for other agencies and communities for a period of one year! Each year, you must re-apply for this special recognition and explain how you are continuing to deliver the Five Promises to youth. According to America’s Promise Alliance, Promise Places are a critical part of helping kids to stay on track, be successful and volunteer in their community!

No matter how big or small your organization may be, your efforts make a difference!
