2012 Mayor’s Youth Summit
Join your peers and City Officials for a day of fun, empowerment and much more at the 13th Annual Mayor’s Youth Summit!

Each Spring Brockton holds an Annual Mayor’s Youth Summit. This event is FREE to the young people of Brockton and attracts over 300 teens from across the City. The summit is an opportunity for youth to engage in discussions with their peers on issues most important to them in the City. Together, they work to create solutions to the issues they’ve expressed, and are provided a forum to voice these concerns and solutions to Mayor Linda M. Balzotti and other City officials.
The 2012 Mayor’s Youth Summit will be held on Saturday, March 31st, 2012 at West Middle School on 271 West St. This year, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. we will be holding a Youth Carnival at the summit which will include games, activities, community and higher education resources. There will also be lunch, youth breakout sessions, raffles, and an opportunity to voice your feelings to Mayor Linda M. Balzotti.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity! Sign up today by filling out this registration form. Please return this form to the Main Office at your school, or return it to the Office of the Mayor, 45 School Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
Looking for Leadership Experience?
If you are interested in being a Peer Facilitator at the Summit you can fill out this form to apply! A peer facilitator guides the breakout session conversation about topics in an unbiased manner and leads his or her peers to a consensus. Facilitators will bring the main points of the discussion to the Mayor at the Youth Summit. The goal of the breakout session is to come up with some feasible solutions to local problems relating to each point of the breakout session topics. Please mail your registration form and Peer Facilitator Applications to the Office of the Mayor, 45 School St., Brockton, MA 02301. Please note that in order to be a facilitator you must attend two mandatory trainings on March 10th and March 24th both from 11am-3pm at the Brockton Public Library’s Main Branch on 304 Main Street.
