Brockton Youth Council
The mission of the Brockton Mayor’s Youth Council is to advise and guide the Mayor, City Officials and Community Agencies on issues that affect young people in the City of Brockton. We serve as the platform for youth programs within Brockton, while empowering the City’s Youth with advocacy and service through the framework of Brockton’s Promise.
Formed in 2010, the Council was created to act as the voice of their peers in the City. Mayor Linda M. Balzotti wanted a specific group of people to address the needs and follow up with the solutions specified at the annual Mayor’s Youth Summit. During this time, a string of violent events was overshadowing our City. The young people of Brockton decided that before anything can be done by youth and for youth, we had to feel as though we were safe. Anti-violence became our focus for the year.
The BYC is now accepting applications for youth interested in making a difference in the City of Brockton. Click here for more information on how you can get involved. Apply online now to make a difference in your community! For paper applications, fill out this form and return it to Mayor Balzotti’s Office, City Hall, 45 School Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
