Drugs4Real: An Interactive Alcohol & Drug Prevention Program for Adolescents

Youth Build Old Colony Y: YouthBuild is a construction job training program for 50 youth ages 16-24, that runs yearly September through July. Participants are able to earn a financial stipend for their work. The program also offers GED preparation and provides a GED class available to participants on Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The Old Colony Y incorporates an additional 40 slots for youth ages 16-21, made available through the Workforce Investment Board (WIB). TERI (The Education Resources Institute): TERI hosts workshops to motivate students in grades 7-12 to complete high school and to take the necessary steps to prepare for college. Services are free to participants and are provided throughout the school day and during afterschool hours.

MY TURN, Inc: MY TURN’s assists youth ages 16-21 with the identification and development of their skills, goals and self-confidence through education and career exploration, employment training and post-secondary planning.

Gateway to College Massasoit Community College: Gateway serves at-risk youth, ages 16-20, who have dropped out or are on the verge of dropping out of high school. Students are given the opportunity to earn their high school diploma and Massasoit Community College credit towards an Associate degree or certificate by enrolling in college level courses for 4 hours each day 5 days a week. Gateway to College is a scholarship program. The scholarship pays for college tuition and books. Gateway students are expected to pay a $57.00 enrollment fee for each semester enrolled.

Brockton Public Schools Project Grads: This is a program that is available to teen parents who are registered students at Brockton High School. The program services approximately 25 students and their children and provides day care, transportation, and parenting instruction while allowing students to stay in school.
